Just up the hill from Port Navas is Potager, a charming informal garden and glasshouse cafe which has been restored from an old nursery. It’s a peaceful friendly place to relax and enjoy a light lunch. Potager is open on Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays and Bank Holidays from Easter through the end of September.

Trebah is our most popular local garden. You could easily spend the best part of a day wandering their leafy paths, stopping for coffee at the Boat House Cafe on the beach and enjoying a good lunch in the Planter’s Cafe. Trebah runs an extensive programmes of events so it’s worthing checking their website.

Next door to Trebah, the National Trust garden at Glendurgan is also well worth a visit. Be sure and try out the cherry laurel maze. You can walk through the garden and on down to Durgan; a picturesque little village with a tiny beach on the Helford.

There is lovely free garden at Candy’s Gate, just by the National Trust car page serving Durgan. Find out more in our Walks section.
