The Cove three miles away at Maenport beach is our best local restaurant. For the past ten years Arty Williams has been producing simple but elegant food based on the best local ingredients available. The location overlooking the beach and Falmouth Bay is fabulous.

A little further on towards Falmouth, Hooked on the Rocks sits above Swanpool beach and specialises in fresh fish and seafood, including lobster. The atmosphere is usually lively and there’s a big deck overlooking the beach and Falmouth bay.

In Falmouth there are several very good restaurants including three great casual places side by side near the Maritime Museum in Events Square: The ShackThe Shed and The Ranch.  Across the square is Rick Stein’s Fish and Chips.

A few miles beyond Falmouth is Castaways at Mylor Harbour. The setting, overlooking the busy yacht harbour, makes this a great spot for a casual lunch. Nearby Café Mylor is also very popular.

Just just seven miles away around the head of the river there are two very good places to eat: The New Yard restaurant at Trelowarren, prides itself on locally sourced fresh fish and grass-fed beef.  The Ship Inn in nearby Mawgan-in Meneage is more restaurant than pub. Greg and Alli Laskey serve up great food and wine in a friendly atmosphere. Tuesday to Saturday evenings only.
