Having recently access to Broadband internet on our computer and finding out all the attributes that can be done with it, I have browsed through the web pages and found your page.

We lived in Port Navas between the years of 1940-46 and I was wondering if anyone in Port Navas would remember my family? My name is Peter Came, father was John (or Jack) mother was Irene. Jack and Irene have passed on but I am still around.

I remember the days when I used to play and sail with Alec Denton. I wonder if he is still around or if anyone knows his whereabouts?

My father used to work at Calamansac, as head gardener to the Warrington Smythe's.

I started work as an apprentice carpenter with Arthur Moyle on houses and boats and other allied work. Myself, wife and children did have a short visit to Port Navas in 1979, to find Arthur had recently deceased. I would love to hear from anyone who remembers those early days.

I now live in Melbourne, Australia, but still have roots in Port Navas, remembering it fondly.

Wishing you success with your regatta, which was never even thought of when I lived there.

If you could pass this email on to anyone who may remember us, I could give more details.

Thanks for your interesting pages and looking forward to a reply.

I wonder if you can help. Yesterday morning (Tuesday 20th July) we were trying to catch a bus from Helford Passage to Falmouth, but unfortunately just missed it after underestimating the long walk up the hill, and were faced with waiting for an hour until the next one. A lady walking her dog had parked her car next to the bus stop and kindly offered to give us a lift all the way into Falmouth, even though she lived in the opposite direction in Port Navas.

I don't know her name, but this might help: she moved with her husband to Port Navas 6 years ago, has a black labrador, drives a VW Golf, and is celebrating her 60th birthday later this week.

I just wanted to pass on our thanks and appreciation to her! If you do recognise her, please do thank her again on our behalf - it was such a nice gesture! We were able to catch a train up to Truro and make our connection back to Reading.

We had a wonderful walking holiday in Cornwall and this was a great way to finish - it reminded us what a difference people can make! Do feel free to pass on my email address if appropriate.

Andrew
